January 2026: Call for Shawls and Lapghans!

January is a perfect time to spend some meditative time in prayer. Throughout the month of January we will share patterns for creating shawls and lapghans. Follow our facebook page or email us directly at twinknits@charter.net if you need assistance or yarn support. As you create consider praying for someone or one of the agencies listed below. They are some in which we have had requests to support:

St. Stephens Lutheran Church - Prayer Shawl Ministry

- Prayers for those homebound, in care facilities, and others in need of comfort.

GLOW - Mt. Pisgah Lutheran Church Cancer Care Packages

- Cancer patience undergoing treatment or in recovery

Warm up America

- Warm Up America! is working with Saber Healthcare Group® to provide lap blankets and shawls to the seniors they serve in their facilities. Saber Healthcare Group® cares for over 9,000 seniors in 117 communities spanning seven states. Any size shawls are acceptable and suggested size for lap blankets is 35" by 45".

Please also be inspired to create for those neighbors or friends who may need your personal prayers at this time.

I am including a link to recommendations and other helpful guidance when beginning to create shawls. Style is not as important as the prayers that are woven into the creations.
