This month we are challenging our TwinKnits angels to create comfort items for preemies. We have several opportunities to donate to some families and hospitals in our community. Natasha Ross has put a call out to crochet communities to donate 200 Octopus to the Levine children's hospital in honor of their daughter, Remi's 5th Anniversary of being home from the NICU. These Octopus will help premature babies grow and develop more sensory perception. They also prevent babies from pulling on hospital tubes in incubators. Please consider creating a few of these cute little guys for our littlest fighters.
If you are a knitter or would like another way to contribute, we will be accepting small baby blankets or preemie hats that will be sent along with these little guys. Soft acrylic or cotton blend yarns appropriate for baby items are requested for blankets. Octopus snuggles should be produced with washable cotton yarns.
