Hello, Summer! Vacation time, beach trips and family time is a great time to be crafting. This month we have a special challenge that goes out to all of our TwinKnit Angels. Think about creating a one of a kind child blanket for a special foster family. We have a special TwinKnit Angel who has brought to us a special summertime Mission Challenge to benefit Hope Fostering Catawba County.
Being a new foster mom herself, Debbie Rutherford knows the personal excitement and challenges that face new foster families and the children they foster. These blankets will be used to welcome children into their new homes and allow us to thank them all for opening their hearts and share their special God gifts. Blankets can be any size, colors or patterns. Keep in mind that these will mostly be for families receiving young children or babies.
We are asking for donations of yarn, crocheted or knitted finished projects or simply prayers for the crafters, families and foster program staff. Thank you, Debbie for bringing this wonderful challenge to us. Items can be dropped off at the drop off station at St. Stephens Lutheran Church, MS in Hickory, NC or during one of our upcoming workshops. You can also
contact us directly for more information and or special drop off request.
We will be continuing this through July along with our other ongoing projects. I'll be bringing additional items requested for blankets to our July 7th meeting. Think we may be able to send washcloths and maybe some other baby items to help fill these baskets.
Update as June 23rd. We have packaged 13 blankets to deliver for foster parent care packages! Any size any colors are welcomed. They can be as unique as the individuals they comfort.
Sounds like a loving project, imagining the little ones cradled in our projects. 💙💛💚🧡❤this idea❣
