July Challenge - Preemie Baby Octopus

This month we are challenging makers to create comfort items for preemies. Natasha Ross has put a call out to crochet communities to donate Octopus Loveys to the Levine children's hospital every year in honor of their daughter, Remi. Remi was a preemie and now shares with a thankful heart back to those babies who are working on growing strong enough to come home from the NICU.

These Octopus will help premature babies grow and develop more sensory perception. They also prevent babies from pulling on hospital tubes in incubators. Please consider creating a few of these cute little guys for our littlest fighters.

If you are a knitter or would like another way to contribute, we will be accepting small baby blankets or preemie hats that will be sent along with these little guys. Soft acrylic or cotton blend yarns appropriate for baby items are requested for blankets. Octopus snuggles should be produced with washable cotton yarns.
